In 2011 the Pierce County Master Gardeners program is offer on a trial basis Educational “Seed” Grants. These small grants (under $150.00) are matching funds to help community gardeners to add long term features to their garden.
Requirements for the grants include attending or hosting a Master Gardener educational program that can relate to the project. A project must be of service to the gardeners and the community for at least two years. For example, funding could be available to support the addition of a three-bin compost system after a composting workshop held at the garden.
