Free Fruits and Veggies!

Apr 22, 01:01 PM by Claire

I have great news for all of you “composters” and “worm-binners.” May 6, I will be receiving a bunch of fruit and veggies that are being used as center pieces at the annual Go Red for Women Luncheon (American Heart Association). Normally, I would suggest donating the leftovers to a food bank but the fruits and veggies are actually going to be submerged in water filled vases for a long period of time, making them pretty water-logged. Instead of throwing the produce in the trash, I will be bringing the leftovers home with me and donating them to anyone who wants to add to their compost or worm bins.

If you are interested in receiving some of this produce, please post a comment on how I can reach you or email us via the contact page.

In other news, my hubbie and I built a worm bin a couple months ago. I need to take some pictures and post them because, in my opinion, it’s something to get excited about!

Do you know of a community garden in Auburn area? I would like to volunteer. I am interested in turning five acres I have in south Bonney Lake area in to a working property. Anyone know somebody interested in that outlying area?
