Alicia

Alicia Lawver is rediscovering her rural roots in an urban setting by relearning to grow vegetables in her Tacoma backyard, working to spend her dollars with local farmers, and teaching her three kids that fresh is best when it comes to planning the dinner menu. But when the family schedule gets overextended, she and her husband admittedly must work to resist the impulse to just order an all-four-food-groups and the-leftovers-are-great-for-breakfast pizza.

Alicia currently works as a Community Relations Specialist for City of Tacoma Environmental Services, primarily spreading the word about TAGRO soil amendment products and working to keep pollutants out of our local waterways. If you run into her after work, she’s likely to go geeky about why sustainable gardening and natural yard care are simple ways to incorporate the “5 Rs” (reduce, reuse, recycle, respect and responsible) into your everyday life.
